#NaPoWriMo Day 27

Not long now, Poetry Brain, not long at all...

#NaPoWriMo Day 27
let's delete all this and start fresh, shall we?

This month will be remembered for many things. The one that matters more than any of the others (and this includes getting my 2027 Calendar organised) is deeply personal. I have rediscovered parts of myself that were misplaced, for a number of reasons, most of which you don't need to know about and I am no longer that interested in discussing in public. That may change in time, but right now the circumstances are better off left well alone, back in the past where they belong.

This has meant, as I've struggled to cope with construction and destruction and pettiness and general stupidity in the inescapable spaces, there's renewed joy in a great many things. The unexpected compliments land without crippling self-deprecation as a response. I'm comfortable being uncomfortable, especially when it comes to exercise. My body is slowly shrinking.

I am making new friends in surprising places.

Sometimes, all it needs is a change of perspective to make things seem... well, less of a problem. There have been a couple of WTF moments in health this week (light sensitivity, unexpected teeth sitting in my upper palate causing issues) that we can only solve with time and self-care. The majority of my goals have been completed for April. We'll be making another chapbook in early May.

If these mini-projects keep going to plan, the hope is to maybe do something a bit wider of scope with this at the end of the year, and by that I mean the possibility of some kind of Submission Window. There, we said it out loud. It will all depend on the interest I can drum up, and it will all be self-generated as the antithesis of traditional poetic approach. I am here to write some new rules.

You should be pushing traditional boundaries whenever possible.

For everything else? We'll get this train back on track this week and start May with some purpose, determination and ORGANISATION. I can't find anything in the office right now, it is a DISASTER AREA and that's my job over the May Bank Holiday... all the tidying. The piles really have to go, and there's some rather important paperwork that has gone missing...
