The Year of the Sandwich #2
Well, we are finally here... :D

Often, things meticulously planned do not play out as anticipated. When this happens there are a number of choices that can be made: many involve keeping quiet and hoping your memory is not as unforgiving as everybody else's. In my case, it means that this is the point in which I'd hoped my Sandwich Project would have been finished, when in reality it is yet to even begin...

This is also not the space I had intended to be at this point in the year. It turns out to be something far, FAR better. As a result, this project is about to evolve into something more personal, more precise and ultimately satisfying. We are going to use my recently-refined chapbook-creation skills and a scanner plus some magic borrowed from other people's dreams and still have the bulk of the work finished by next week, so it's simply about production in early May.

The biggest obstacle will be getting the printing order correct.

This month has flown by, which is normally a sign that I am not having to wait for things to happen. All the work that has come to me (and it increasingly has) is a perfect counter to the work that has been lost. Rejections have become better poems, new poems are happening with increasing fluidity, and the stuff that did need to happen by a certain date is being done. Everything is good.

Instead of telling you therefore what we're doing it is just going to happen. You'll see portions of it play out on Instagram, which is important for visibility pre-Art Trail. All the rest of this will be revealed as the work is completed: whatever happens with the rest of my formal submissions this year, I will make sure I am proud of how this plays out. It will be the beginning of something worthwhile.
