Art: Trail #3
It has been six days since my last Blog Post...

Here we are, in what can only be described as the liminal space between having started the Trail and ending it. I've completed 40 out of 44 venues since this journey started last Friday. The final four would be done by tomorrow were one of them not open again until Wednesday. It wasn't the plan to go quite as fast as I did either but, as it transpires, this was the best way.

I have learnt a phenomenal amount in ten days. Many truths have emerged in the process of casual conversation. Being sober in spaces where people are drinking is both a blessing and a curse. There's had to be a bit of scrapping too, and some dodging of internal politics, but mostly I have emerged unscathed. This means that, as of Wednesday afternoon, I'm taking five days holiday.

We'll make sure on Tuesday that I have everything needed to do so.

IT'S A SIGN, LADS!

There is some art that has been purchased too: selected pieces, nothing hugely expensive, just some well-placed souvenirs. I've exceeded 100k steps, been super good at not overeating. Lots of mental health breaks have taken place. I've got some unpleasant mosquito bites on each leg and had to ice my right foot this morning but, apart from this, I'm super happy with how everything has gone.

More importantly the time has been found to submit to two major poetry windows. There are a couple more that I'm going to work on during the 'holiday' period, so that professional opportunities have not been missed as a result of this little excursion. Also today, to prevent any further prevarication, the amended manuscript of Forest Management is with my publisher.

We'll talk about that starting on the 20th.

My favourite bit of art from yesterday...

If truth be told there is a phenomenal amount of sorting that now needs to take place: my office is a literal disaster area. At least one day 'off' next week will be dedicated to sorting this out. My upper body work now means that a large number of bras no longer fit me which will require a trip to some kind of shopping emporium next week as well. I should book a measuring appointment.

There'll be one more post on Wednesday to wrap all of this up, then we'll be back with you on Monday 20th. Stay classy, subscribers :D
