News Post / August 17th

It is DAY 8 of the Art Trail Draft and, actually, I am pleased with process. In real terms I am only two poems behind where I had hoped to be, but this week will be tougher than last. This was always going to be the problematic part of the journey, but I am VERY proud of what has been produced thus far. As an exercise in refining my craft, it has been without equal.

This month has also been a sea of rejections, which normally would pull me down, but honestly I have no time for either response or concern. I have subbed where I can but August is traditionally a fallow month generally. It does mean that there is a LOT of work with no home right now. That’s looking like a job to rationalise once I’ve had some time to finish my workload.

There is other stuff too, but we’ll talk about that in more detail this week… back to poems I go!
