WHAT NEXT: July 2026 Edition

The Trail does not 'technically' finish until Sunday. As discussed previously, my work is done there, capped off this morning by a chat with a couple of artists with whom I really hope to be working with during Q4. That means today, FINALLY, I can begin the process of deciding what the fuck happens next. It turns out that there is a LOT going on without me having to expend that much effort.

In no particular order:

ALL THE ORGANISATION: LIKE ALL OF IT ^^

Next week is looking impressively full. There's A POETRY PROJECT I cannot talk about as yet (as there is a Tender :O) but if it happens, honestly, it may end up as the biggest thing I was involved in this year. There's then some emailing with the Art Collective that needs doing after I complete my South Bank feedback, with the addition of some BONUS SHIZ from that interaction to boot.

Then there is the need to get ready for Stanza next Saturday with a group of brand new people. I've also been asked if I am mentoring at all going forward.

I need to get the arse in gear.

The Pamphlet is with my Publisher \o/

In anticipation of all the organisation above occurring, we were smart and clever and got the final version of Forest Management off to my publisher early. The youngest is currently designing a cover, and I am already planning to do some readings online and in reality for promotion. There's the possibility of at least three online spaces. I'll be looking for the opportunity to do two IRL gigs.

We'll be going deeper into all this starting next week.

There may be another Collection brewing...

...and when I say maybe, I mean that samples have been sent to publishers. There is enough formally published work at this point to support the creation of a new body of work. We've been picking away at a new sequence since before the Trail began. At this stage, I have no idea how this is going to go. The work, however, is a distinct departure from my previous direction.

Next month we also need to find some new spaces to submit stuff.

Writing the Trail Pamphlet begins in August ^^

I could start this tomorrow but tidying my office and finding the bedroom are more pressing concerns. The last of my invoicing needs doing and some stuff could go on Vinted. There are the Thank You gifts for the Exhibition participants and at least four important clothing repair jobs that ALL take precedence and it would be lovely to start next month in better organisational shape than I now am.

We are not worrying about work right now. That apart from anything else is the reminder, if it was needed, that life has improved since June 2025.
