WHAT'S NEXT: August 2026 Edition
A day later than advertised because I got distracted by a shiny thing :P
The problem with habit forming (repetitive, often difficult, often not enjoyable) is when something exciting comes along, all that good work gets sidelined. This very much happened yesterday, and this morning I have zero regrets about letting the writing of this post slide from yesterday. Plus I have a new haircut. Apparently I look like a K-POP singer. I’ll take that.
The reason WHY I got sidetracked was a manuscript for a pamphlet: not mine, someone else’s. Someone was asking for a read-through and I decided ’why not’ and was very impressed by what I read. I love that this person came not only with research but a vivid and active imagination, and that always makes for an engaging read. They already have a home for it too, and I look forward to reading it when published.
This month is all about things that I know will and hope might be published.
I will have the first draft of the Art Trail ‘booklet’ finished at the end of next week. After that there’s some necessary faffing that needs to take place with this website plus other online spaces, much-needed tidying up of my personal reality and then there is nothing that major until we start gearing up for my pamphlet release in October. I need to post yesterday’s Sealey as well, while I think of it.
It would also be great if I could get some new readers here. There is no algorithm to assist me as there would be on Substack, so if you are reading this and know someone who might enjoy an independent and eclectic view on the world of poetry right now, please consider pointing them in this direction. There will be some participative elements to the space starting beginning next month.
I also think I’ve found a sensible way to utilise my WordPress site.
There are some other things too, but to give the Supporters Club something worthwhile to subscribe for, we will be giving them first view of all of those things starting this week.
